Upcoming and ongoing Club events and activities. Among the events that take place regularly in the Washington, DC area are a great basketball game against Georgetown at the Verizon Center with over a thousand of our closest friends; our annual holiday party; softball, basketball, flag football and now soccer (and sometimes even championships for those teams); and the new student send-off as well as the Club's scholarship. Congratulations and thanks go out to all alums that participate and represent our Club!

SU vs Georgetown The rivalry is renewed on Monday, January 21, 2008 at 7:00 pm at the Verizon Center. The game will be televised on ESPN. There will be an Orange Friendzy hosted by Alumni Relations from 5-7pm at Clyde's. Game tickets are available through the Club. Co-ed Basketball in CAN League The SU Club of Washington plays other alumni clubs in the area in this recreational, but competitive league sponsored by CAN. Team composition: 3 males, 2 females; one Varsity player, either gender, on the court at any time. Game Watching Syracuse Alumni in DC enjoy watching the Syracuse Orange in the Hoyas' backyard. Rhino Bar and Pumphouse, located at 3295 M. St. Nw., is our official basketball game watching venue. Thursty Thursdays Thursty Thursdays are an opportunity for members of the Syracuse University community of the Washington, DC area to get together to meet, socialize, and network. Softball Spring/Summer CAN softball team. Virginia Gold Cup For the fourth straight year, the Syracuse University Alumni Club of Washington is taking part in the Virginia Gold Cup on Saturday, May 7. Flag Football The SU team is co-ed with 8 players on the field at a time (5 men and 3 women). We practice and play hard, but go out afterwards to a local sports bar. New Student Send-off Annual August get together for incoming Freshman and parents to learn more about SU and make connections prior to leaving later in the month. Annual Club Scholarship The Club awards an annual scholarship to an upperclassman and bookstore certificates to incoming Freshman at the New Student Send-off. Please consider donating!
