Andrew Regalado ’20, Stephanie Haver ’15 to co-chair Syracuse University alumni club in D.C.
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Jul 1, 2021 --

The Syracuse University Alumni Club of Washington, D.C. will be co-chaired by Andrew Regalado ’20 and Stephanie Haver ’15 starting July 1.

The club structure has staggered terms for co-chairs, allowing opportunities for collaboration, leadership development and smooth transitions for volunteers. Regalado has served alongside co-chair Lottie Watts ’09, whose term ended June 30. He will co-chair with Haver, who has served for the past year as communications chair.

“We are thankful to everyone who showed up to our virtual events with an open mind, gave their time and shared in our belief that we could continue to make an impact,” said Watts, who joined the alumni club board in 2017. “I have immense gratitude for the opportunity I’ve had to serve with incredible volunteers and I have no doubt the club will continue to expand its reach with the dedicated volunteers who are committed to serving Orange alumni, family, friends and fans in the D.C. region.”

The chairs for 2021-2022 – who were announced during a virtual event in June – are:

  • Co-Chair A: Andrew Regalado ’20
  • Co-Chair B: Stephanie B. Haver ’15
  • Budget & Finance Chair: Joshua Levi ’05
  • Communications & Social Media Chair: Mackenzie Mertikas '20
  • Orange Engagement Chair: Jack Woltman ’18

The event also featured a Q&A with summer 2021’s scholarship recipients, recapped the success of the club’s events and introduced plans to return to in-person programming (you can share your thoughts and ideas in this survey).

“As our club heads into the 2021-2022 term, I am grateful for the opportunity to continue serving our Orange family as Co-Chair A. Our board will undoubtedly remain steadfast in our commitment to expanding our signature scholarship fundraising efforts and providing meaningful ways for everyone to stay connected, develop professionally, and gather in-person,” Regalado said. “We are eager to further collaborate with the university’s local academic programs and community partners to ensure innovative, exciting events and initiatives, as well as support more volunteer opportunities to advance our club and build up the next generation of SU in DC leaders.”

There are additional opportunities to get involved, from giving to the scholarship fund online (or giving by Venmo: @Syracuse-UniversityinDC) to attending events and serving on committees.
